He used a high pressure shower hose, some garden connectors (female to female) and a garden trigger. The hose is attached to the hot water tap that supplies the washing machine. We only wash in cold water so this tap was not in use.
To use the squirter you do need to turn on the hot water tap and turn it off when you are finished but this takes only a few seconds.
